I think the mere idea of anything new, no matter how many times we’ve been disappointed by its precedents - a new president, a new relationship, etc. - is enough as it is to instill hope and happiness where it wasn’t present before. May everything we set out to do, new or old, in this coming new year live up to our expectations of the wonderful things that new things always bring forth. And may we find ourselves infinitely more contented in the realization that despite of the problems that burdened us in the past year, new things will always have their way of finding us and bringing us to better places.
